HC Deb 15 January 1913 vol 46 cc2062-3
37. Sir G. SCOTT ROBERTSON

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether, in view of the fact that revised scales of pay for the Indian Public Works Department, the Imperial Forest, and other services have been approved recently with retrospective effect, he can say if Indian education service officers are to receive similar treatment; and whether he is aware that if this precedent be not followed, and if the revised scale be not sanctioned at an early date, senior education officers will benefit but little before retirement?

Mr. BAKER

Retrospective effect was not given to the last revisions of pay in the case of the Imperial branches of the Forest and Public Works Departments. With regard to the Indian educational service, as I informed the hon. Member for East Nottingham on the 3rd instant and 8th October, these matters are covered by the terms of reference of the Public Service Commission.
