HC Deb 04 February 1913 vol 47 c1981
41. Mr. C. BATHURST

asked the President of the Board of Agriculture whether, in view of the serious adulteration of clover and other farm seeds, generally of foreign origin, purchased by British farmers, he will consider the desirability of applying a part of the Grant to the Board from the Development Commissioners towards the establishment of a national seed-testing station?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

The question of providing an official seed-testing station in England is under consideration, but the Board do not propose to apply for a Grant from the Development Fund for this purpose in the immediate future.
