HC Deb 04 February 1913 vol 47 cc1982-3
45 and 46. Mr. NEWMAN

asked the Prime Minister (1) whether, having regard to the intention of the Government to proceed, if and when opportunity should occur, with the question of electoral reform, he will say whether electoral reform includes a reform or readjustment of the method known as the single vote, whereby Members are under present conditions elected to serve in this House; and (2) whether the intention of the Government to deal with the subject of electoral reform may be taken to include any reform or alteration in the method of election of Members of this House?

The PRIME MINISTER (Mr. Asquith)

It would be premature to make any statement on this subject at present.
