HC Deb 04 February 1913 vol 47 c1967
14. Mr. HUNT

asked the Secretary for War whether his attenttion has been called to the statement of the High Commissioner for Australia, to the effect that since universal naval and military training has been brought about in Australia the recruiting stations for the Navy have had to be closed, because there were more applications than there were vacancies; and whether, in view of these facts, he will reconsider his decision as to his refusal to fill up the deficiencies of the Territorial force by compulsory training?

Colonel SEELY

I have no official information as to the correctness or otherwise of the statement in this question.

Mr. HUNT

Will the right hon. Gentleman answer the last part of the question?

Colonel SEELY

The answer is that that would depend upon whether it was a fact or not.
