HC Deb 31 October 1912 vol 43 c559
48. Captain FABER

asked the Prime Minister whether he will advise the appointing of a Royal Commission to report on the necessity of universal military training?

The PRIME MINISTER

No, Sir; I do not see that any useful purpose would be served by the course proposed.

Captain FABER

Is it the settled policy of the Government not to appoint a Royal Commission, or is it they are afraid the result would not be in accordance with their wishes?
