HC Deb 16 October 1912 vol 42 cc1233-4
61. Sir PHILIP MAGNUS

asked who will be responsible for stamping the insurance card of a teacher in a secondary school abandoning his employment in that school after due notice at the end of a term, and who obtains employment in another school after the vacation at the commencement of the next term, or has accepted a post in another school prior to the beginning of or during the vacation, respectively?

Mr. MASTERMAN

The authorities of the first school would be responsible for contributions up to the end of the period in respect of which salary was paid by them. The authorities of the second school would assume responsibility as employers from the beginning of the period in respect of which salary was paid by them. The question is quite unaffected by the date on which the teacher notified his acceptance of the appointment.

Sir P. MAGNUS

The right hon. Gentleman has only answered the first part of my question. Would he answer the second and third parts?

Mr. MASTERMAN

I think the hon. Member, if he looks at the answer, will see it covers the whole question.
