HC Deb 28 November 1912 vol 44 c1469
32. Mr. FIELD

asked the Vice-President of the Department of Agriculture (Ireland) whether he is aware that on Thursday, 14th instant, in addition to the cattle exported from Dublin to Birkenhead, 1,113 cattle were exported to Manchester, and 352 to Glasgow, and for the week ending 16th November the number of cattle exported from Dublin to Birkenhead was 4,181, to Manchester 1,585, and to Glasgow 1,463; and whether he can state the total number of animals exported from Dublin during the week ending 16th November?

Mr. RUSSELL

On Thursday, the 14th instant, there were 135 cattle exported from Dublin to Manchester, and 756 cattle to Glasgow. For the week ended 16th instant the numbers shipped from Dublin to Birkenhead, Manchester, and Glasgow are correctly stated in the question. The total number of cattle exported from Dublin during that week was 7,894.

Mr. KILBRIDE

Can the right hon. Gentleman say whether there was sufficient accommodation at Birkenhead?

Mr. RUSSELL

I know nothing of Birkenhead.
