HC Deb 25 November 1912 vol 44 cc818-9
83. Major ARCHER-SHEE

asked what is the nominal full speed of His Majesty's ship "Pegasus"; when the quarterly eight hours' full-speed trial, in accordance with Article 915 of the King's Regulations and Admiratly Instructions, was last carried out; and what was the speed attained?

Mr. CHURCHILL

The last eight hours' full-speed trial was carried out in July, 1909. It is not in the public interest to state the speed obtained, but the ship is capable of obtaining her full horse-power if desired.

Major ARCHER-SHEE

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that the full speed of this ship is not over ten knots and her nominal speed is twenty?

Mr. CHURCHILL

No; my information is different from that.
