HC Deb 21 November 1912 vol 44 cc458-9
15. Sir J. D. REES

asked the Prime Minister whether, in the re-arrangement of business now contemplated, the Government scheme in regard to Customs and Excise under the Government of Ireland Bill will be dropped; and, if not, whether, in view of the opposition thereto manifested in all quarters, further time will be given for the discussion of the subject in the new time-table?

The PRIME MINISTER (Mr. Asquith)

The answer to both branches of the question is in the negative.

Mr. MEYSEY-THOMPSON

Considering the very grave importance of this question both to the Irish and the English taxpayer, may I appeal to the Prime Minister to give us more time to discuss it?

Mr. SPEAKER

This is not the time to make an appeal to the Prime Minister.
