HC Deb 19 November 1912 vol 44 c106
14. Sir JOHN JARDINE

asked the Secretary for Scotland the figures of allotments and small holdings created under Statutes in the county of Roxburgh during this century; and whether any measures to supply small holdings have been taken in the county since the passing of the Small Landholders (Scotland) Act, and with what result?

Mr. McKINNON WOOD

I am not aware that there has been any creation under Statute of allotments or small holdings during the present century. The Board of Agriculture for Scotland have made inquiries in and around Roxburghshire in terms of the Small Landholders Act, and are at present in negotiation with certain estates with a view to forming one settlement of small holders in the county and another near its borders.
