HC Deb 12 November 1912 vol 43 c1806
58. Mr. AINSWORTH

asked how many persons have applied under the Small Landholders (Scotland) Act for new holdings and enlargements in the Island of Tiree; what is the present position of these applications; and what are the prospects of new holdings and enlargements being obtained there?

Mr. McKINNON WOOD

180 such applications have been received. The Board of Agriculture have reason to believe that land will be available by next spring for twenty-five new holdings and seventeen enlargements, and hope that more land may be made available for sub-division at an early date.
