HC Deb 04 November 1912 vol 43 cc836-7
69. Mr. BURGOYNE

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether the eight scouts have all been withdrawn from active service with the Fleet at sea; when were they withdrawn and how replaced; whether they are all being rearmed with 4-inch guns; when is it anticipated they will be completed and recommissioned; whether there has been any delay in the work of rearming; and, if so, the reasons for such delay?

The FIRST LORD of the ADMIRALTY (Mr. Churchill)

The eight scouts have been withdrawn from active service and are being rearmed and refitted. The date of completion and recommissioning cannot at present be stated definitely, but it is not anticipated that there will be any delay in the work of rearming.
