HC Deb 16 May 1912 vol 38 c1269
Mr. NORTON-GRIFFITHS

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty, in view of the visit of His Royal Highness the Duke of Connaught, Governor-General of Canada, to Quebec in June, whether His Majesty's Government will arrange for the visit of a battleship or cruiser squadron to Quebec on that occasion?

The FIRST LORD of the ADMIRALTY (Mr. Churchill)

The training cruiser "Cornwall" will be at Quebec from the 24th May to the 1st June, but none other of His Majesty's ships will be there in June. I might, however, add that the "Sirius" has orders to be at Halifax on the occasion of a visit by His Royal Highness the Governor-General to that place in August.
