HC Deb 16 May 1912 vol 38 cc1274-5
Mr. FRED HALL (Dulwich)

asked the Prime Minister whether his attention has been called to the fact that Alderman Farrell, the ex-Lord Mayor of Dublin, was rejected as a delegate to the recent Government of Ireland Bill Convention, owing to the attitude adopted by him towards the Crown; and whether he will insert a safeguarding provision in the Government of Ireland Bill in the interest of those whose loyalty may survive the introduction of Home Rule?

The PRIME MINISTER

I have no knowledge of the matter referred to in the first part of the question. As regards the last part the hon. Member can propose by way of Amendment to the Bill any further safeguards which he may consider necessary.

Mr. FRED HALL

Will the right hon. Gentleman make inquiry?

The PRIME MINISTER

No, Sir, I do not think it necessary.
