HC Deb 13 May 1912 vol 38 c768
Mr. BARNES

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he would give the value of engines, machinery, and millwork exported from this country last year and the value of the same exported from this country in the year 1871?

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of TRADE (Mr. Buxton)

The total declared value of the exports of engines and machinery of all kinds of United Kingdom manufacture to all destinations was £5,966,000 in 1871, and £30,977,000 in 1911. These figures are exclusive of the value of marine engines and other machinery fitted into new ships sold abroad, no record of this amount being available for the earlier year.
