HC Deb 13 May 1912 vol 38 c785
Mr. COOPER

asked the Postmaster-General whether he will state the number of male telegraphists in the Central Telegraph Office, London, who, during the past fortnight, have required urgent medical treatment whilst on duty or have had to be escorted by another official to their homes; whether there are a number of men at present absent either through nervous complaints or undergoing hospital treatment for eye strain; whether these cases can be attributed to the expressed official demands for the attainment of certain averages; and whether he will cause a full inquiry to be made into the prevailing conditions in that office?

Mr. HERBERT SAMUEL

I am making inquiry, and will inform the hon. Member of the result.
