HC Deb 28 March 1912 vol 36 c601
Mr. HUDSON

asked whether the contract for the boilers to be placed in His Majesty's ship "Queen Mary" has been given to private firms; if so, whether one or more firms are to do the work; and hat firm or firms are doing the work and the number of boilers in their contract for this ship?

Dr. MACNAMARA

The boilers of His Majesty's ship "Queen Mary" have been constructed by private firms, two-thirds of them having been built by Messrs. John Brown and Co., Clydebank, and the remaining one-third by Messrs. Palmer's Shipbuilding and Iron Company, Jarrow.
