§ Mr. FRANCIS MEEHANasked whether the Chief Secretary will state on what grounds the Estates Commissioners refused to grant to Mrs. Catherine Gilroy, an evicted tenant on the Baron Massey estate, county Leitrim; and whether, having regard to their letter of the 15th December, 1909, they will reconsider her claim?
§ Mr. BIRRELLThe Estates Commissioners received the application of Mrs. Gilroy for a Grant in connection with her holding, which she purchased direct from the owner in the matter of the sale of this estate under the Irish Land Act, 1903, and have decided to take no action in the matter. It is not the practice of the Commissioners to state the reasons which actuate them in the exercise of the discretion vested in them.
