HC Deb 12 March 1912 vol 35 cc960-1
Major ARCHER-SHEE

asked the Prime Minister whether, in forming the Royal Commission on the question of appointments in the Civil Service, some one may be included who can represent the interests of the naval and military services, in view of the number of ex-Service men in the Civil Service?

Mr. McKENNA (for the Prime Minister)

It does not seem desirable that the members of such a Commission should be selected with a view to representing particular interests. The Commission will, of course, have the power to take evidence from all sources.
