HC Deb 11 March 1912 vol 35 c815
Captain WARING

asked whether, in the future administration of the surplus of £30,000 now lying at the credit of the congested districts, due regard will be taken of the claims of counties where conditions similar to those in congested areas prevail which have not for the past twenty years enjoyed the benefits of the Crofters Act?

Mr. McKINNON WOOD

Any surplus standing to the credit of the Congested Districts (Scotland) Fund at the commencement of the Small Landholders (Scotland) Act will fall into the Agriculture (Scotland) Fund set up by that Act, and will be administered by the Board of Agriculture for Scotland under the general supervision of the Secretary for Scotland. The Fund will be applicable to the whole of Scotland, and due regard will be had to the claims both of the technically congested areas and of other areas throughout Scotland.
