HC Deb 20 June 1912 vol 39 c1818
3. Mr. NOEL BUXTON

asked whether any application has been made to the Turkish Government for the loan of military officers for the gendarmerie; and, if so, whether the request has been agreed to?

Sir E. GREY

I beg to refer my hon. Friend to the replies given to the hon. Member for Central Hull on the 12th inst.

Mr. NOEL BUXTON

Does the right hon. Gentleman's information lead him to think that public order is sufficiently improved to warrant the loan of officers?

Sir E. GREY

I want to be quite sure under what conditions the officers are required and what work they will have to do before I can answer. That is the point now under consideration.
