HC Deb 20 June 1912 vol 39 cc1837-8
57. Mr. LARDNER

asked the Postmaster-General if he is yet in a position to make a statement as to the results of the two experimental automatic telephone exchanges recently established in England?

Mr. HERBERT SAMUEL

The automatic telephone exchange at Epsom is the only one as yet established. It has worked efficiently, and is providing a satisfactory service for subscribers. But the, period since its opening has been short, and the experience obtained up to the present has necessarily been very limited.
