HC Deb 19 June 1912 vol 39 cc1663-4
45. Mr. PETO

asked how many Members attended the first meeting of the Industrial council?

Mr. ROBERTSON

The answer is twenty-two.

Mr. WORTH1NGTON-EVANS

What is the quorum?

Mr. ROBERTSON

I cannot at the moment say, but the number seems adequate out of twenty-seven.

46. Mr. PETO

asked whether the reference to the Industrial Council includes cases of disputed agreements in the coal, iron, and textile trades; and whether it will inquire into cases arising in Scotland and Ireland?

Mr. ROBERTSON

The terms of reference to the Industrial Council (copy of which I will send to the hon. Member) contain no limitation as regards the trades that may be included in the inquiry, and there is nothing to preclude evidence being taken regarding agreements in Scotland or Ireland.

Sir GILBERT PARKER

Will the hon. Gentleman allow the terms of reference to lie on the Table?

Mr. ROBERTSON

I will consider it.
