§ 46. Mr. GLAZEBROOKasked the Prime Minister whether the expenses to the ratepayers of Manchester in connection with the Manchester Corporation Ball of 1911 amounted to over £8,500; and whether he will consider the desirability of proposing alterations in Private Bill legislation so as to diminish the expenditure necessary for such corporation Bills in the future?
§ The PRIME MINISTERI have no doubt the figures given by the hon. Member are correct, and I am aware that the expenses in connection with Private Bills are frequently very considerable, but I am not prepared to propose legislation on the subject.
