HC Deb 18 June 1912 vol 39 c1484
46. Mr. GLAZEBROOK

asked the Prime Minister whether the expenses to the ratepayers of Manchester in connection with the Manchester Corporation Ball of 1911 amounted to over £8,500; and whether he will consider the desirability of proposing alterations in Private Bill legislation so as to diminish the expenditure necessary for such corporation Bills in the future?

The PRIME MINISTER

I have no doubt the figures given by the hon. Member are correct, and I am aware that the expenses in connection with Private Bills are frequently very considerable, but I am not prepared to propose legislation on the subject.
