44. Captain FABERasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will state whether there has been any trouble during the current year in North Somaliland; and, if so, whether he can make any statement?
Mr. HARCOURTThere has been fighting between the Mullah and the friendly tribes with varying success. There has also been a certain amount of intertribal fighting among the friendly tribes themselves as the result of the looting habits of the Somalis, which appear to be ineradicable. I am not prepared to make any further statement at present.
§ Sir J. D. REESIs this Mullah the same Mullah that was so often dead?
§ Mr. JOHN WARDHe used to be mad.
