HC Deb 11 June 1912 vol 39 cc699-700
85. Mr. CLYNES

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether the firm of J. Hodgkinson, Salford, contractors to the Admiralty, are not observing the Fair-Wages Clause in the payment of certain ironfounders and pattern-makers in their employment; and whether he will have inquiry made and secure compliance with the Clause in question?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the BOARD of ADMIRALTY (Dr. Macnamara)

This firm has at present no Admiralty orders, either directly or as sub-contractors. In the event of their receiving any order they would, of course, be required to comply with the conditions of the Fair-Wages Clause.
