HC Deb 04 June 1912 vol 39 c16
Sir J. D. REES

May I ask the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has any information to give the House regarding the state of affairs in Cuba?

The SECRETARY of STATE for the COLONIES (Mr. Harcourt)

On 22nd May His Majesty's Minister at Havana reported the outbreak of negro risings in different parts of Cuba. In the last telegram on 28th May he stated that they appeared to have been suppressed except in the province of Santiago. Up to that date British subjects and property had not appreciably suffered.
