HC Deb 25 July 1912 vol 41 c1356
69. Mr. LARDNER

asked the Secretary to the Treasury if he can give any approximate estimate of the number of persons who have been insured in Ireland under the National Insurance Act, Part I., distinguishing between compulsorily and voluntarily insured persons?

Mr. MASTERMAN

I understand that about 675,000 persons have joined approved societies in Ireland. I am unable to give more exact figures as to insured persons who have not yet joined approved societies and those who are respectively employed and voluntary contributors than the estimate in the later Actuaries' Report, C'd. 5983.
