§ Mr. BIRRELLProceedings for riot were taken by summons against thirty-six persons identified by the police as having taken part in the disturbance at Castledawson. The case against the twenty-nine defendants belonging to the Hibernian party was finished yesterday, when twenty-three of them were returned for trial to next Assizes. The man referred to in the evidence as having seized a flag is among those so returned. The charges against the other side have still to be investigated before the justices.
