§ 87. Lord NINIAN CRICHTON-STUARTasked the Postmaster-General whether he is aware of the delay and inconvenience caused by the telephone department in the city of Cardiff; and whether he will cause an inquiry to be made into the circumstances?
§ Mr. HERBERT SAMUELSome temporary inconvenience may have been occasioned in Cardiff by the recent transfer of subscribers from the old Post Office Exchange to a new exchange, but this transfer will result in a permanent improvement 794 in the service. Faults unfortunately occurred a few days ago in two cables in the city, which caused a temporary interruption to a number of subscribers' lines; but these faults were quickly remedied. In other respects I believe the service in Cardiff to be satisfactory.
