asked the Prime Minister whether, considering the depression in the market value of the Government stock of Great Britain and Germany, the two principal commercial Powers in Europe, and further considering that such stock is of lower value than that of other European Powers of inferior wealth, he would be prepared to propose to the German Government a joint commission to investigate the causes and to suggest remedies with a view to common action in placing the respective national securities on a sounder footing?
