HC Deb 22 July 1912 vol 41 c779
18. Mr. BARNES

asked the result of the inquiry into the complaints laid against Messrs. Bow and M'Lauchlan, Paisley, with respect to their treatment of trade unionists?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the ADMIRALTY (Dr. Macnamara)

As I informed my hon. Friend on 20th June, the inquiries which have been made failed to disclose any breach of the Fair-Wages Clause in the matter of overtime, and the rates paid for overtime.

19. Mr. TYSON WILSON

asked the result of the inquiry into the alleged violation of the Fair-Wages Clause by the North British Rubber Company and the Victoria Rubber Company?

Dr. MACNAMARA

The inquiry is still proceeding. We are in communication both with the firms and with the trade union secretaries concerned. I may add that part of the work referred to appears to be for Army and not for Navy supplies.
