26. Mr. POINTERasked the Secretary to the Treasury whether he is aware that the Royal London Mutual Insurance Society is informing its employés that if the society pays the contributions of its employés under the National Insurance Act the employés must declare for the approved section of the society; and what action he proposes to take to prevent this pressure on insured persons?
§ Mr. MASTERMANThere is nothing in the National Insurance Act which prevents an employer from paying the contributions either of his employés in general or of such of them as he may select.
§ Mr. MASTERMANWhether the society are entitled to tell their employés that they must join the society's approved section or leave their service? I will inquire into that matter.
