HC Deb 17 July 1912 vol 41 c371
24. Mr. MOUNT

asked whether officials of the Valuation Department claim the right to visit and go over private dwelling-houses, without the consent of the owner or occupier, for the purpose of making valuations; and whether he can state what Statute authorises this intrusion upon the privacy of individuals?

Mr. MASTERMAN

I will refer the hon. Member to the answer that I gave on this subject on the 21st February last to the hon. Member for Sutherland.

Mr. MOUNT

Can the right hon. Gentleman say whether any householder is entitled to refuse them admittance?

Mr. MASTERMAN

I cannot answer that.
