HC Deb 15 July 1912 vol 41 c28
79. Sir HENRY DALZIEL

asked whether, in the case of workmen who will come under the National Insurance Act who happen to be on holiday during the first week of the operation of the Act, they will be required to pay, on resuming work, the contribution of the employer as well as their own?

Mr. MASTERMAN

If the men on holiday receive wages in respect of the first week or any part of it, the ordinary contributions under Part I. of the Act will be payable in respect of that week. If they do not receive wages, no contributions will be payable.
