Mr. JOWETTasked the Secretary to the Admiralty whether the Golden Valley Ochre and Oxide Company, Limited, of Wick, near Bristol, and the Forest of Dean, are contractors to the Admiralty and other Government Departments, as stated on the note-paper of the company; whether he is satisfied that this company pays trade union rates of wages to their employés; if so, whether he is aware that 75 per cent. of the company's workmen earn less than 19s. per week for sixty hours' labour; and will he see that the Fair-Wages Resolution is observed?

In regard to the remaining parts of the question, the Fair-Wages Clause is included in contracts with this firm, and if any detailed complaint is received that the Clause is being infringed, I will cause full inquiry to be made.
