HC Deb 19 December 1912 vol 45 c1684
71. Sir C. KINLOCH-COOKE

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether the Departmental Committee which has been considering the case of the naval shipwrights has reported; and, if so, will he say when he expects to be in a position to reply to the points raised in the naval shipwright's Petition?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the ADMIRALTY (Dr. Macnamara)

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative; to the second, very shortly.

Sir C. KINLOCH-COOKE

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that the naval shipwrights eligible to return to the Dockyards on the established list have decided not to accept the new rates but to revert to the old rates owing to the uncertainty of their position under the new arrangement.

Dr. MACNAMARA

I do not think that arises out of the question——

Sir C. KINLOCH-COOKE

Is it a fact?

Dr. MACNAMARA

Whether it is or not, I am not aware of it.

Sir C. KINLOCH-COOKE

Time you were!
