HC Deb 19 December 1912 vol 45 cc1674-5
57. Mr. G. LOCKER-LAMPSON

asked for how long, under the Government of Ireland Bill, it will be possible for an Irish Executive to be in existence before the first meeting of the Irish Parliament?

The PRIME MINISTER

I would refer the hon. Member to the Amendments to Clause 47, of which the Government have given notice, and which will answer his question.

Mr. CASSEL

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that those Amendments will admit of a period of a year?

The PRIME MINISTER

If that is so, that answers the question.

Mr. CASSEL

Does not the right hon. Gentleman consider it objectionable, according to his own statement, that that should be so?

The PRIME MINISTER

We can discuss that on Clause 47.
