asked what is the difference between the amount actually paid to local authorities by the Road Board in the two years up to the end of the last financial year, 31st March, 1912, and the amount of the increase in motor and carriage licences which in those two years were paid to the Roard Board Fund?

Mr. LLOYD GEORGE

The amount requisitioned by and paid to local authorities by the Road Board up to 31st March, 1912, was £254,258; the amount of the payments made to the Road Board up to the same date in respect of motor and carriage licences was £830,302. The difference between these sums is £576,044.
