52. Major ANSTRUTHER-GRAY

asked the number of prosecutions, the number of convictions, the amount of fines collected, and the number of imprisonments for illegal trawling in Scotland since the 1st January last?

Mr. McKINNON WOOD

The information desired is as follows: Number of prosecutions, thirty-four; number of convic- tions, twenty-nine; amount of fines collected, £527 6s. 8d; and number of imprisonments, thirteen. I may add that a sum of £361 14s. 5d. has been realised from the sale of fish forfeited by foreign trawlers detected trawling within the three-mile limit, and that various other amounts have also been received from the sales of forfeited gear.

Major ANSTRUTHER-GRAY

May I have a copy of that answer?

Mr. McKINNON WOOD

Certainly.
