HC Deb 02 April 1912 vol 36 c1034
Mr. WILLIAM THORNE

asked whether the Postmaster-General is aware that, following the withdrawal of the organised rest reliefs, an unusual amount of sickness has obtained in the Manchester trunk exchange, and that the local authorities have been compelled to requisition assistance from the telegraph branch in order to meet the permanent shortage of staff; whether this arrangement has his sanction; and whether, in view of the fact that the medical committee reported favourably on the system of organised rest reliefs, he will order that the system be restored?

Mr. HERBERT SAMUEL

I am having inquiry made, and will communicate further with the hon. Member.
