HC Deb 02 April 1912 vol 36 c1047
Mr. TYSON WILSON

asked the hon. Member for St. George's-in-the-East, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, whether he is aware that information as to what firms are supplying office furniture and other such articles for the use of the National Insurance Commissioners has been refused on application being made by unions concerned; will he state the reason for this refusal; and will he now give the information desired in order to ensure that the Fair-Wage Clause is not being violated?

Mr. WEDGWOOD BENN (Lord of the Treasury)

The rule of the Department is to publish monthly in the Board of Trade "Labour Gazette" the names of successful tenderers for all important contracts. It is not usual to furnish the information to individuals, and the present practice appears to be fair to all parties concerned.
