HC Deb 26 October 1911 vol 30 cc282-3
Mr. ROTHSCHILD

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether, seeing that the naval airship is a failure, he will make experiments in aeroplanes rising either from floats on the sea or from the deck of a mother-ship, and, if successful, will he purchase some for the Navy?

The FIRST LORD of the ADMIRALTY (Mr. Churchill)

The question of the best way of using aeroplanes for naval service is receiving the careful study which its growing importance deserves.
