Mr. FELL

asked if the right hon. Gentleman can state the percentage of sugar in the sugar beet grown in Ireland this year; and how it compares with the percentage of sugar in beet grown in Germany, France, and Norfolk in England?

Mr. RUSSELL

Analyses of beet grown in Ireland are being made, and I shall be happy to communicate the results to the hon. Member as soon as they are available, with any comparative information obtainable.
