HC Deb 27 November 1911 vol 32 cc37-8
Mr. CASSEL

asked whether the right hon. Gentleman will afford an opportunity for discussion on the Report stage of the National Insurance Bill of an Amendment which is desired by the friendly societies that, in lieu of the additional sick pay provided for by Amendments made in Committee, they should be able to give sickness benefit as from the first day of sickness, which Amendment was not able to be discussed in Committee owing to the Resolution of the House allocating the time for dealing with the National Insurance Bill?

Mr. LLOYD GEORGE

The hon. Member is under a misapprehension. This question was discussed at some length on the 17th July, and an Amendment moved by the hon. Member for Worcester to substitute "first day" for "fourth day" was negatived on a Division.
