Mr. TYSON WILSONasked the President of the Board of Agriculture whether the application of the Lancashire and Western Sea Fisheries Joint 801 Committee for a grant for scientific and development purposes has been acceded to; and, if not, whether it is the intention of the Board to give any assistance at all to this Committee?
§ Mr. RUNCIMANThe Board are in communication with the Development Commissioners on the subject. Whether the Board will be able to assist the Committee will depend on the decision of the Commissioners. The Board certainly hope to be in a position to do so.

§ Mr. SNOWDENasked the President of the Board of Agriculture what is being done with respect to the application of the Lancashire and Western Fisheries Joint Board for a grant for scientific and development work which was made on the 8th of July, 1910; and if the application which has been made to the Development Commissioners by the Board of Agriculture for a grant of £50,000 will, if made, enable the Board of Agriculture to accede to the request of the Lancashire and Western Sea Fisheries Joint Committee?
§ Mr. RUNCIMANCommunications between the Board and the Development Commissioners on this subject are still proceeding. I may say, however, that if the Commissioners and the Treasury approve the application made by the Board to the Commissioners, the Board will be able to give assistance to the Lancashire and Western Sea Fisheries Joint Committee on the lines indicated in their application.
