HC Deb 16 November 1911 vol 31 c501
Mr. JOHN PHILLIPS

asked whether the right hon. Gentleman has received a resolution of the joint committee of the Mullingar Asylum Board of Governors asking for the powers of the Scotch asylum boards as to the boarding out of harmless patients, in order to relieve congestion in the asylum; and what action he intends to take in the matter?

Mr. ILLINGWORTH

A resolution has been adopted as stated in the question. The proposal would require legislation, which obviously could not be undertaken at present.

Captain CRAIG

Is the hon. Member aware that the Ulster men introduced a Bill on this very point, and it was blocked by the Nationalist party?
