HC Deb 16 November 1911 vol 31 c520
Mr. BENTHAM

asked the President of the Board of Trade if his attention has been drawn to a case of the drowning of William Vanse at the canal bridge at Crowle Wharf, on Wednesday, 8th November; if he is aware that the coroner stated that the place was a death trap; and whether he will communicate with the Sheffield and South Yorkshire Navigation Company with a view of placing a barrier across the road at such times as the canal bridge is open?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the BOARD of TRADE (Mr. J. M. Robertson)

I am already in communication with the Navigation Company in this matter, and I will inform my hon. Friend of the result.
