HC Deb 14 November 1911 vol 31 c202
Mr. MacCALLUM SCOTT

asked the Home Secretary whether his attention has been drawn to the hardship inflicted upon workmen and others who are summoned to serve on a common jury, who have often to travel long distances and incur expenses in addition to the loss of earnings, and who are paid but 1s. for each case on which they are sworn, however long the case may last; and whether he will include this matter in his reference to the Committee which will shortly be appointed to consider the method of selecting juries?

Mr. McKENNA

This will certainly be included among the matters referred to the Committee.
