HC Deb 14 November 1911 vol 31 c206
Mr. NOLAN

asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland whether a grant was made in 1894 for the improvement of the Drogheda-Navan Canal, Ireland; whether there is at present an unexpended balance of the said grant of about £500 in the hands of the Treasury; and, if so, whether he will give instructions for the same to be placed at the disposal of the Boyne Navigation Company for the purpose of carrying out certain much-needed improvements in the waterway in question?

Mr. McKINNON WOOD

An application has been made by the Boyne Navigation Company for the payment of a further Treasury grant of £500. The payment of the grant is subject to certain conditions, and inquiries are proceeding in order to ascertain whether these conditions have been or will be fulfilled.
